They are designed to safely absorb the heat-induced expansion joint strip,cover, and contraction of various construction materials, to absorb vibration, and to hold parts together, or to allow movement due to ground settlement or earthquakes.They are commonly found between sections of sidewalks, bridges, railway tracks, piping systems, ships, and other structures.They are also applied in floor, walls, and ceilings. Safety treads and stair nosing are heavy-duty integrated safety nosing which are manufactured from reinforced aluminum extrusion.
